Description

We are seeking several Lean Manufacturing Consultants to join our team!


Location: Anywhere in the United States. This is a traveling consultant role (5 days/week, 10-hrs/day)
Duration of Contract: Based on client needs, often 3 to 6 month durations - with possible renewal.
Compensation Terms:Weekly to Bi-monthly

We have the following openings:
  1. Entry Level 
    1. (Preferred Mechanical or Industrial Engineer or 4 year degree), less than 5 years in experience. GPA 3.0 or higher, no lean training required. Must be a good communicator, excellent presentation skills, ability to learn, be responsive, shows humility and has the desire to achieve excellence.
  2. Mid Level
    1. (Has training materials and can independently lead / train a basic lean training activity - like 5S, Standard Work, SMED, Kanban, yamazumi, Visual Management, job instruction training, process charting, plan for every part, work station design, time and motion study, and Andon.) Has knowledge of the social aspects of lean, like change management, learning and communication styles, and management directed kaizen (i.e. Jishuken) and Quality Circles (i.e. Team Member Development).
  3. Senior Level 
    1. (Has a portfolio of lean projects and can solve complex lean projects such as: production leveling (work content optimization), can solve Group Technology Layout problems using data / excel, can setup CONWIP systems that are independently operated or coupled with downstream processes. Can interact with Plant Managers, Operational Leaders, and CEOs on complex topics such as culture, transformational leadership and human resource development.

Requirements

  1. Must be US Citizen
  2. Must be willing to travel and perform work onsite (50-hrs work week)
  3. Maintain your own laptop equipment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  4. Can sign Independent Contractor Agreements in advance (to be provided if selected)
  5. Can create 1-page Profile Introduction in advance (1-page template will be provided if selected)

Bonuses

This role does not qualify for bonus compensation.

Benefits

This role is a 1099 NEC Independent Contractor employee.

Responsibilities

Level 1 Consultant (Entry Level)
     1. Proficient at process kaizen (i.e. workstation improvement)
     2. Can perform the role of the Team Leader
     3. Can teach Standard Work & Problem Solving

Level 2 Consultant (Mid Level)
     1. Proficient at system kaizen (i.e. line or cell improvement)
     2. Can perform the role of the Group Leader, Assistant Manager and Manager
     3. Can teach Just In Time, Kanban, Production Leveling

Level 3 Consultant (Senior Level)

     1. Proficient at Organizational development (i.e. plant improvement)
     2. Can perform the role of Plant Manager, Site Leader, Director / VP of Operations / Excellence
     3. Can teach Transformation Leadership, Plant Layout / Production Flow Analysis

Perform work at client location. 
  • Conduct assessments, facilitate improvements or lead / teach new activities.
  • Build relationships with new customers.
  • Generate, publish and report out daily or weekly findings / results.
